【跳槽*面试】导师分享跳槽面试经历

一个猎头(Recruiter)帮着约了礼拜二中饭时间的面试。她神神秘秘的,在我签Consent Form那一刻才告诉我雇主的名称。是一家总部在慕尼黑的M再保险集团,找个北美的IT Audit Manager


Meeting Invite里看到面试官是个HR - Senior Talent Acquisition Partner。

这是一家用Pad在前台Check-In的公司,看来土狼屯的技术应用开始也向咱的母国追赶了... 时间一到,小A冒了出来(他姓Au),很年轻!寒暄之后,他说没定会议室,就走到前台接待旁边,要问问旁边会议室是否有人定了。结果前台小白男正跟美女说话呢,小A就只能站在旁边眼巴巴的等着... 不知道过了多少秒,我说,咱俩就坐open area的椅子上聊吧 if you don’t mind.



小A愉快接受,我俩就坐在靠窗的高脚椅上开聊。他说,我先给你介绍我们公司和这个岗位。M公司在北美收购了不少公司,发现每个公司的Audit Team能力参差不齐,希望找个Manager来oversee以确保大家执行Group的方法论,达到同样的审计质量。他说这个岗位现在有两个Direct Reports,分别在Cincinnati和Heartland。将来有可能在Toronto招个Auditor。这个岗位的老板在Princeton, NJ,老板直接汇报给董事会。说这个岗位虽然title是Manager,但位置很重要,级别比银行的Manager高。


What’s your experience of Leadership? 小A突然抛出了第一个问题。不慌。我讲了我不仅有很多带IT Audit项目的经验,还有Annual Audit Planning的经验。我现在的职位在first Line of Defence主要是governance的职责,充满了negotiation和influencing others,我有三个resources dot line reporting to me. I am also comfortable with presentations to Executives and regularly do it.



Are you OK with travels if up to 50% for the first 6 months and 20% afterwards? 他解释了他为什么这样想,无非是establishing relationship, first image什么的。我说the plan makes sense for me. It is manageable. More 50% will be challenging because of family.


When did you work for Manulife?It’s between 2015 and 2016. Do you know John 某某?Yeah, he... is a Executive of Security at that time.He works for M now. He is based in Princeton though. 小A接着说John给他们的Info Security部门set up了很多Pillar.

Are you familiar with IT infrastructure? Oh yes! When I worked for Manulife, I am the Manager for IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security Audit. I am familiar with all infra layers - OS, DB, Network, Middleware, Mainframe, etc. (提醒大家一下,技术面的时候千万别这么吹)

Are you also familiar with physical security?  I have at least audited 5 data centres. I visited the data centres of IBM and Blackberry. I know the standard physical protections of a data centre.


下一个问题。When a subsidiary of the group purchased ten routers, what come into your mind from risk perspective? Well,  I would like to know whether they follow standard configuration for the routers, and whether they have processes in place to support and protect the routers. If any of the routers is at enterprise perimeter, I will look into whether it is implemented hardening standard. You know I also familiar with industry frameworks and best practices such as ISO27001/2, ITIL, OSFI requirements and NIST CSF.


小A说我们公司的办事效率很高的,非常Agile,不像银行可能比较bureaucratic。你在工作中注重效率吗?of course. Although we have audit methodology to follow, I always focus on more adding values to internal clients on timely basis. My last Audit project applied agile audit approach. I definitely see the benefits of doing that way.

小A满意的点了点头。他解释了后面会有哪三轮面试,然后问我有什么问题吗?我说You have provided a lot of information which makes crystal sense to me. I don’t have any questions for you. But just to add on about my work attitude. I can imagine this role may quite often receives push backs from stakeholders. I alway work in an attitude to understand others perspectives, find points in common and being flexible to move things forward...


补充:小A在刚开始时还问了我为什么要离开现在的公司?I miss audit life so much, and I want to go back. 在我的催促之下,45分钟完成了面试。
